RUSTED BASES STEP-BY-STEP

I would like to share with You all a simple technique i use to create rusted, dirty bases for my sci-fi miniatures.

STEP 1 - Black Vallejo basecoat primer washed with layers of Vallejo Panzer Aces Dark Mud.

STEP 2 - First i airbrushed whole bases with Vallejo Panzer Aces Dark Rust.

STEP 3 - When paint was dry i airbrushed the bases with uneven, thin layers of Vallejo Panzer Aces Light Rust.

STEP 4 - Next step was aplying drybrush of Citadel Sunburst Yellow.

STEP 5 - When it was totally dry, i used a big brush to water-layer the bases with mix of Vallejo Game Collor Hawk Turquoise, Citadel Vile Green and Citadel Skull White (40/40/20).

STEP 6 - When the watered layer was dry drybrushed metal crate with soft graphite pencil and dabed some Vallejo Rust Pigment here and there, completing with painting outer rims of bases with Vallejo Black.

STEP 7 - Finished bases, done in under 20 minutes. Not for display cabinet next to Golden Demons, but perfect for basing your tabletop miniatures.

Hope you enjoyed my short STEP-BY-STEP, send me some feedback if You like to see more short tutorials like that.

Keep on painting,
Frost, Devil's Miniatures
